Raj’s Indian Grocery Store is a gem in the heart in Boulder. The warm aroma of spices greets you as you step inside, instantly transporting you to the bustling markets of Mumbai. Raj, the owner, is more than a shopkeeper; he’s a culinary guide, offering tips and recipes that turn your cooking into a gastronomic adventure. The shelves are lined with vibrant lentils, aromatic basmati rice, and an assortment of chutneys and pickles. Rating: 5 stars for exceptional service, quality products, and delightful experiences. ?️

You will find all kinds of Indian groceries at reasonable prices without having to drive long distance. The place is packed with stuff with narrow - one person width- aisles and can feel a lot as you enter. Stick with and you will find stuff. I did not find their vegetable section as appealing. Friendly shop owner and helpful in finding stuff.

Because a negative google review was given, instead of fixing customer relations, he chose not to address and fix it but identify my friend at the store another time and say he wouldn’t like to do business with him anymore because of his review. This seems a bit much. Reviews are given to help people make their choices, leave or take. Hope this changes over time.

The store has a decent selection no doubt, but as other reviewers have noted, prices are much higher here,.. also,.. the owner doesn't label any of the items with prices..I've seen him get angry with customers who simply mentioned that the price of an item is a bit high,.. also, and this is not the owner's fault, but some of the clientele are very rude.. they cut in line w/o a warning ?... But I guess that's just the way it is everywhere ?

I walked in for the first time and was greeted by the owner (an Ayurvedic practitioner) and he helped me choose the best products and even gave me recipes. He is super friendly and full of knowledge of the science of food and medicine. Best place in town. Ill be back for the advice and great products.

Definitely over priced items compared to the other Indian grocery store in Boulder. And even they know that due to less competition, they will price gouge.

That said, store is in a total mess all the times I’ve been there. The refrigerators are worse.

I’ve just never bothered leaving a review because I was being fairly accommodative for the longest time.

During my last visit, bought two items. One of them that was expiring in August 2024 (today is March 1st 2024), when I got home and opened the frozen packet, it had fungus inside. I was so frustrated because I was truly excited to cook something and this ruined it for me since I couldn’t go back and return it since the shop would’ve closed by then. Speaking of store timings, I would suggest you call them every time before going because even though they say the store closed at 8pm, when I went there to return it at around 7:45pm, the shop was closed. When I confronted him about it, he said “No one was here so I left early, you should’ve called before coming”. Take it for what you will.

Coming back to the returning of spoilt packet of frozen food that I got, not only did he not feel an ounce of regret or apologetic of selling me a frozen food packet, he seemed defensive in trying to just refund me in having me leave the store. I did not appreciate that. Thankfully he’s not the only Indian store in the city of Boulder.

EDIT: Was passing by the store so decided to stop by to pick up something, the shopkeeper who I referred to in this review was there. I didn't even have this review in my mind, but after exploring the shop and picking up an item and walked to the check out, he asked me what's my name, and showed me a picture of my profile on Google and told me since I wrote this negative review, he doesn't wish to do business with me. So I politely walked out. I will let you decide if this was right or wrong. Just wanted to keep it out there.

The best Indian grocery store I’ve been to in Colorado. They have a great selection of spices, chutneys, dry food, frozen food (their samosas are fantastic!), and a small but very fresh produce section. They even have a lot of organic options as well. The owner is very friendly and his recommendations are spot on.
