Mon 26 Aug 2024 I went to this Best Buy to try to purchase a phone. First encounter was an almost empty parking lot.
I went in and found only one attendant at the AT & T counter helping two customers for over 15 minutes. When I sought his help, he gave me bad information on where to find the device I needed. I tried getting assistance from another two employees who did not help at all. One of them told me I needed to sign in for help. I gave that a try to learn from the manager that I would have to wait 20 minutes when I had already been in the store over half an hour. I tried explaining to him what I needed and that any one of the 3 assistants doing nothing could take care of my simple request. The manager decided that it was smart to bring the cop stationed outside the almost-empty store. When I clarified to the cop and to the manager that all I wanted is to find out a certain type of device I needed, the cop wanted my name. I asked the manager if he wanted me to leave, and if so, he would be losing a paying customer. His response? We will make money from the other customers in the store (barely a few.) I did end up leaving unable to make my purchase.
I do not know how Best Buy is picking these superstar managers and employees, but it is clear that will drive them out of business at this location with the gawd awful customer service they are offering. To the stake-holders: It is wise for business that you audit the personnel at this location and evaluate whether the current procedures to interact with customers are worthwhile.
